Looking for the perfect sweet, protein-packed treat? These vegan cake batter protein bites make a great pre- or post-workout snack. I like packing a few of these, along with a banana and bottle of water, to enjoy after class or a run. Let’s get into it.
INGREDIENTS:- 1 scoop of Biochem 100% Plant Protein (vanilla flavor)
- 1/3 cup smooth nut butter
- 1/3 cup gluten free rolled oats
- 1/3 cup coconut nectar
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of sea salt or pink Himalayan salt
- sprinkles for topping (and fun, obvi)
- Blend Biochem 100% Plant Protein powder, nuts, and oats in your food processor or blender. I like to add the oats last for added texture, but you may choose to blend completely.
- Add coconut nectar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt and pulse until dough forms.
- Roll into small balls and, if you’d like, dip in a shallow dish of sprinkles.
- Store in an airtight container. Protein bites will keep for several days in the refrigerator.
Recipe notes: You can use agave nectar (vegan) or honey in place of the coconut nectar. These protein bites can also be made without a blender– just combine ingredients in a large bowl and use some old-fashioned elbow grease.
Biochem’s Plant-based proteins, including the vanilla flavor used in this recipe, are made with fermented, highly-sustainable, and clean-sourced protein ingredients such as shiitake, pumpkin seed, and water lentils.
Unlike other powders I’ve tried, Biochem Plant-based proteins taste great without containing any wacky (or genetically engineered) ingredients. This makes them ideal for including in all kinds of recipes– not just your usual shakes or smoothies. I’m tempted to try a blender protein muffin next...
